From The Coordinator: Yurcich Is Mr. Positive

Oklahoma State quarterback Daxx Garman is the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week but he has room to improve as he continues to shake off the rust of five seasons of game inactivity. Garman has been great on the deep ball, but he has work to do with the short and intermediate passing game.

From The Coordinator: Slower Tempo Is Welcome

Linebacker Ryan Simmons played 85 plays last week against Texas Tech. Cornerback Kevin Peterson, who missed the last series, was on the field for 84 plays against the Red Raiders and safety Jordan Sterns said he played 95 snaps, including some special teams. None of those guys are asking to play less.

Analysis: Garman, Cowboys Getting Better

Just like I said on the video review right after the game, there was so much to this game that is really hard to analyze it completely. The 288 yards of penalties really skews it all. The game was never in a rhythm, at least one that was consistently favorable to either side. If it were a box it was five-sided. If it were a triangle it was isosceles.

Analysis: Cowboys Defense Has Guts

Honestly, I felt that the defense played okay in the win over Texas Tech. Now the numbers may say something different to most of you. Texas Tech had 506 total yards. The Red Raiders had 32 first downs, that’s right 32 first downs! There were only 112 rushing yards but 394 yards through the air, and there were four runs of 10 yards or more and at least 12 passes of 15 yards or more.
